Thank you for considering Five Wounds Church for your Quinceañera.  If you would like to have your ceremony in our church, please contact Mary Vargas, email hidden; JavaScript is required to check availability of the date you are requesting.

You will need to have an interview with a priest before you can have the ceremony in the Catholic Church.  If you would like a priest from our church to preside at your ceremony, please email our Pastor, Rev. António Silveira, email hidden; JavaScript is required or call (408) 292-2123 for an appointment. If you would like a priest from another parish or diocese outside of San José, you will need to provide a letter of suitability from his bishop stating that he is in good standing and may officiate at your Quinceañera.

  1. Schedule a date:  Quinceañeras may be celebrated on Saturdays at either 11 AM, 1 PM or 3 PM with two hours allotted for seating guests, ceremony, and photos. For example, if your quinceañera is at 11 AM, then your time slot would be 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM )
  2. Pay non-refundable deposit of $500 with either cash or check to secure the date. The date is not secured until the funds are received. The balance of $900 is due six (6) months prior to the ceremony. The fee includes use of church, priest, and (1) organist or cantor, and ceremony coordinator. The total is $1,400.00. If the quinceañera is cancelled within six (6) months or less of the ceremony date, a 50% fee will be charged toward the final payment for the inconvenience to the parish of losing that time slot.
  3. Bring baptismal certificate and First Communion certificate and deposit to Five Wounds Church office.
  4. Call and secure the music for your ceremony. Any one of these is included in your fee. If you wish bring your own music, it must reflect the religious and sacramental nature of your quinceañera. Pop music is neither appropriate nor permitted at Five Wounds Church.
  5. The rehearsal should be held on the week of your ceremony and may be scheduled by calling Mary Vargas at (408) 292-2123. Rehearsals may be Monday – Friday, 4-5 PM, 5-6 PM or 6-7 PM. The ceremony coordinator, Champion Avecilla, will meet you in front of the church and may be contacted by calling (408) 500-7680 or email: email hidden; JavaScript is required
  6. You may select your own photographer; however, they must follow the etiquette that is appropriate for a religious service.  Drones are not allowed on or over Five Wounds Church property at any time.
  7. Your flower arrangements and other decorations must be approved prior to your quinceañera.

Your ceremony may be conducted in Spanish or English. Please let the office know which you prefer. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request.
