St. Isabel’s Kitchen is a daily lunch program begun by the late Rev. Leonel Noia that has been serving the homeless and hungry of our community since 1986. The program is coordinated and staffed by dedicated volunteer parishioners. Lunch is served between 11:00—noon in a patio area behind the rectory hall constructed in 2012 to better serve program recipients.
Lunch normally consists of a bowl of soup, sandwich, fruit, dessert, and a bottle of water. This ministry is primarily funded through the generosity of our parishioners. St. Isabel’s Kitchen has also established partnerships with local grocery and warehouse chains for their surplus food items. Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School on the Five Wounds campus also generously contributes food left over from its student meal program.
More than 2,000 lunches are distributed monthly.
